”This set is fast but not furious. The rhythm section swings hard and is both tight and relaxed, making it possible for you to focus on the mechanics of playing at blazing tempos."
Find out how good you really are when tempos reach 340 beats per minute! You've heard stories of jazz masters who used to burn through "Cherokee" in all 12 keys...now see what it's like for yourself. This set will absolutely prepare you for a typical club session, where jazz standards are often played at “break neck” speed. If you can cut it at these tempos, you're ready for anything! Fast tempos no longer have to be "above your play grade."
Disclaimer: Be sure the warranty on your horn covers tempos this fast. We will not be held responsible for injuries sustained from detached flying keys or spontaneously combusting clarinets (although, we’d sorta like to see it…) Do not use this play-along in the proximity of a working sprinkler system (not a problem in most jazz clubs). A common side-effect upon completion of “Cherokee in All Keys” is rapid swelling of the head. Loose fitting berets are highly recommended.
Rhythm Section: Dan Haerle & Mark Levine (p); Todd Coolman & John Goldsby (b); Ed Soph & Barry Ries (d)
