Saxology is an Eastman School of Music ensemble that was formed in 1980. Over the years the group has been honored with Downbeat Magazine Awards for best collegiate jazz combo in 1981, '87, '91, and '95. Saxology's initial association with Advance Music began in 1994, with the group's first CD, Saxology-Featuring Jerry Bergonzi. The success enjoyed from the Bergonzi project led to this current CD, Saxology-Featuring Bob Mintzer.
