Based on the chord progression of the classic standard, All Of Me. It is intended to feature the trumpet section, both as an ensemble and as individual improvisers. The soloists could also be one trumpet and the first tenor sax. With its many virtuoso ensemble passages, Lo' Flame makes a great first half closer. Stylistically, the piece is in the direction of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra and its subsequent incarnations.
