Why is my purchase on backorder?

A backorder happens when a retail item is out of stock. If an item is backordered, you can call/email to verify the status of the item(s). But please know that out of stock items will have to be reordered from the respective publisher, and thus will delay the shipment of that item. You can check your item status in the order history of your jazzbooks account. Please know that we haven't forgotten about you and we will deliver your purchase as soon as it's back in stock.
