Leaving - Richie Beirach - Jim McNeely (arr.)

This is one of Richie´s favorite songs. The original trio recording is on "Hubris" (ECM) and then again on "Tribute to Chet Baker". Chet recorded it numerous times. We have asked composer/arranger Jim McNeely to create a feature for solo vocal but the chart also sounds great as a flügelhorn or tenor feature.

Jim creates unusual colors and amazing sounds by using just the standard big band instrumentation. Masterful! If you are looking for an arrangement with contemporary, yet warm colors, don´t look any further, this is it.
