The Fantasia form of music has existed since the 15th Century. Originally it was used to describe an instrumental work in which the form and development came entirely from the composer's imagination and skill.
Composer-pianist David Chesky is contributing to this grand musical tradition in his own unique style. These solo pieces demonstrate the full potential of the piano as an expressive instrument. They combine the rhythms of Latin American music as found in the Tango, Samba and Choro; jazz idioms; and classical music influences.
